Let's start with some tips:

Skin care: The adhesive protective base can remain on the skin for several days. Check daily and change according to the instructions received from the stoma care nurse.

Emptying and cleaning the pouch: Empty the ostomy pouch when it reaches 1/3 of its capacity. For two-piece pouches, detach the barrier and rinse with water, avoiding cleaning products.

Prevent leaks: Use a reliable, well-fitting ostomy pouch to prevent leaks.

Exercise: Your stoma should not limit your physical activities, except for contact sports, very intense activities, or heavy lifting. Consult a health care professional for specific guidance.

Water activities, beaches and swimming: You can take a shower or bath, with or without the bag. Avoid soaps that leave residue on the skin. In hot baths or saunas, check the bag's seal and change it if necessary. Empty the bag before swimming.
